Apology...
The shop sale was originally planned for last night, but over the weekend my hosting
provider took down several hundred sites in order to fix a "glitch" and of course MY site had to be one of
them.
We were back up and running in 12 hours BUT in the event it happened again last night during the original
sale, I decided to re-schedule the sale for this weekend.
So please join Harry and Harriett (pictured) and
Georgie and Georgia (not pictured) next Saturday night for our first shop sale!
**If you haven't
already, please join the Advanced Mailing List so you will be notified of the exact time of the shop sale.

W.I.P.
-
Many blogs out there post monthly updates on their WIP (work in progress).
Some might have 2, 3 or even 4 projects going at the same time. But in my case I tend to start about 5 projects and finish
only about 2 before I begin 5 more...I think they call that "Crafty A.D.D."!
I'm not
just talking about the same kind of projects, in my case I literally start 5 totally new and vastly different ones.
Here is a short list of my W.I.P.:
1) Knitted baby items - 5 in the works.
2) Knitted sweater that
requires additional sewing skills and it has to be mailed in two days.
3) Baby video (complete with music)
- 2nd year milestones - deadline June.
4) Baby scrapbook (100 pages) - 2nd year milestones - deadline June.
5) Baby quilt using clothing remnants - 3 books bought, no quilt made.
6) Last Hurrah scarf
for my husband - 5% complete and we are almost into April.
7) My son's website - Perfectly up to date
for 20 months then.....nothing for the last 2 months.
8) Oliver and Olivia knitting patterns - A combination
of 8 pieces of handwritten paper - deadline June.
9) About 70 recipes I collected or wrote myself that need
to be typed and made into 4x6 laminated cards for my kitchen files.
10) 2 NEW knitting patterns to be added
to the FROG FRIEND FAMILY....and no they are not frogs!
11) 2 NEW fabric characters to be added to the FROG
FRIEND FAMILY....and no they are not frogs!

Corners
of a far away home
I've lived in Little Venice London for a little over a year.
Prior to that I lived in Singapore.
This was the view from our
windows on the 18th & 19th floors of our loft in Singapore. It was spectacular!
The windows
were floor to ceiling on two floors so when you walked by (especially if you were afraid of heights like me) you almost
had to catch your breath as you looked down.
There were many things I loved
about living in Singapore, but most of all it was meeting Jon and Carol. I met Carol in a Pregnancy yoga class
when we were both about 5 months along. Having only been in Singapore a short time, Carol became my best friend
almost immediately as I was having a tough time being away from family and friends back in New York. After our sons
were born only a couple weeks apart, we started spending every weekend at their house, cooking, laughing and comparing notes
on "how to be a first time mum".
I look back on those times and realize I NEVER would have
made it through the early stages of motherhood without her.
BIG HUGS to you Carol.

Snow!
I woke up this morning to the most beautiful sight....SNOW!
It reminded me of the time I lived in lower Manhattan and all the fun I used to have walking to work with the snow blowing
down Greenwich street. I remember having to wear waterproof mascara because the snow would blow at an angle right into
my face and by the time I got to work, I looked like a raccoon!
Right across the street from my job were
two amazing restaurants called Tribeca Grill and Tri-Bakery, both owned by Robert DeNiro. Tribeca Grill had
the most wonderful pear salad I've ever tasted, in fact, I have been looking for a similar recipe for about 5 years now.
So if anyone has ever been there (it was only on their summer menu) and knows how to make the salad, please let me know.

Congratulations
Cindy....and if I'm correct, you live in New Zealand too!
A big THANK YOU to everyone who entered
the drawing. It was so much fun, I plan to do another one next month! No need to enter again, I will put everyone's
name back in the new drawing to be announced April 25th.
Stay tuned next week for a sneak peak of the NEW FROGS in next weekend's SHOP SALE. I will be sending
an email to everyone on the advance mailing list 48 hours prior to the sale.
Warm up those fingers, I think
it's gonna be a fast sale!

Cherubs
In addition to knitting, sewing and scrapbooking (more on that in another post), I love to
stencil walls.
It's been a couple years since I last stenciled anything and I often think about the
beautiful bathroom ceiling I did a few years back in a downtown loft back in the U.S. This was before I had my
son so in my next house (more on that next month), I plan to duplicate this ceiling in his bathroom.
The online company that sells the cherub stencils is Victoria Lawson Home Decor. Each cherub is 3 overlays, so although it is time consuming to do, the finished effect might just rival Michelangelo!

Hmmmmm?
Each morning at around 7:30, I head down to the lobby to buy
my Starbucks latte. Since I am on the top floor, the elevator usually stops several times to pick up other people on
the way down.
This is the strange scene outside the elevator on the
7th floor this morning. Looks like someone had a great time last night....Bachelorette party? Wedding
night? Whatever it was, it started outside the room!

Wizard of OZ?
What a WILD weekend!
For the first time in the history
of Atlanta, a SIX mile long TORNADO came crashing right through the city Friday night!
Since our room was
on the top floor of the hotel, my son and I were evacuated to the lobby for a little over a hour during the worst part
of the storm.
Everything is OK now, but based on the damage reports I saw on the news, it looks like
Atlanta is in for 150 million dollars of repairs.
**My husband always picks the best time
to go out of town for the weekend!

Room
Service
There's something about the ability to pick up the phone and in minutes
have a yummy seared sesame crusted tuna salad (it also has Gorgonzola, sliced pears and crunchy red tortilla strips)
delivered right to your door!
It's a stormy day here in Atlanta and I am "home alone" with
my knitting and my son while my hubby is off to Lake Tahoe for a Bachelor party.
Oh don't feel
bad for me, I plan to shop and eat my way around Atlanta this weekend. There are two really big shopping malls
just a short walk from my hotel with every store imaginable PLUS the prices are at least HALF what they are in London!
Have a great weekend, I will be back in the UK on Tuesday just in time to get all things in order for the BIG
GIVEAWAY next Friday. If you have not already entered, click HERE!

He's
mine!
Yippee! I finally managed to get "Martin", the very cute, very
clever little dog from Sweetnellie.
He's all mine and waiting for me at home in London. I had a tip that he would be available yesterday
so I stalked the Sweetnellie on-line shop from here in Atlanta and it paid off!
Oh course
now my husband knows the real reason I kept saying..."It's my turn on the computer, I need to check something very
very important...hurry, hurry!".

Off the beaten path
Although our hotel is located in Atlanta, my quest for the best fabric shop carried me
on an adventure through the suburbs of the city.
After several phone calls (from my UK mobile)
and two very sweet southern passers-by, I found my needle in a haystack fabric shop called "Intown Quilters" located in a beautiful little house on Mistletoe Road in Decatur, GA which is east of Atlanta.
Two floors
of bliss for me, 2 hours of "are you done yet" from my husband.
Check out my goodies to the left
that will soon become new Frog Friends for the shop!

Routines
When it comes to my 2 year old and bath-time, not even an unfamiliar hotel room or thousands
of miles away from home can stop this kid from a favorite routine. When I was a kid, I hated bath-time and tried every
excuse in the book to avoid it. Perhaps it was my long hair and the dreaded "detangler" that my Dad attemped
to run through my hair post bath. It took only a few of these attempts to convince me that short hair was way cooler.
Even today when I see little girls with short hair, I think back to my bath-time dramas and wonder..."Didn't they
make hair conditioner back then?".

What do these 3 things have in common?

Three of the BEST things we saw in Atlanta yesterday!
1) Coca Cola-
Ahhh caffeine and sugar, what could be better? Atlanta is the home of this addictive American classic and when you're
as jet lagged as we are....it is the breakfast of champions!
2) Home Depot -
Not just a pile of cables, but thousands and thousands of DIY stuff. It's the largest home improvement store
in the world and headquartered in Atlanta. Where else can you buy and drink your Starbucks while sitting on a demo toilet
reading a "How to knit bathroom accessories" magazine? Yes... that is exactly what I did yesterday!
Sorry guys but I really wanted my husband to take a photo of me, but he adamantly refused....smart guy.
3)
Chick-Fil-A - Southern fried chicken on a buttered biscuit....yummy. Let me explain...here
in America a biscuit is not a cookie, but more like a savory scone for my friends across the pond. It's flaky, crispy
and one is just not enough. Wash it all down with a tall cup of "Sweet Tea" (this must be pronounced with
a southern accent, think Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias). It's a 64oz iced tea with an equally absurd amount of
sugar....a cavity in every sip!
Y'all stay tuned for more adventures from down south.

Were
coming to America!

Atlanta, Georgia to be exact.
It's early,
oh so early here in London and I'm trying to pack all the essentials for our trip.
My husband insists
I double check for toothbrushes, camera, phone chargers etc., but what I really don't want to forget are these
guys!
When you have a 2 year old who LOVES stuffed toys, the "essentials" will always be
(in no particular order) ....
*Oliver & Olivia *HP32 (the mischievous monkee from http://monkeemaker.blogspot.com/), *Joey & Dolly (my prized rabbits from http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/).
Now that's what I call PACKING!
